Dedication to Your Self

When you are feeling lost and unaware and not sure which direction your life should go in, sometimes, you need to revisit your path. Recently, I have found myself lost in this world of chaos, crisis and confusion; longing to find what makes me happy.

The small things definitely make a difference, the soothing sound of the rain, the smell of fresh baked bread, the feel of the breeze on my skin when I ride through the floral scented parks; but something is missing.

Time has seemed to warp in my world, without schedules, deadlines or a sense of urgency, hours blend into days and days into weeks. I work, I accomplish, I progress, but I still don't know where I am headed.

I have decided to spend some time dedicating it to myself. But in order to do that, I need a plan. And that plan involves three things. I need a vision, something to strive for without distraction. I also need some goals, stepping stones to achieve that vision. And finally, I need some discipline, which is the hardest thing of all for a dreamer, a procrastinator and a believer of always putting herself last.

I have decided to start is not about money, success or even love. It is about me. It is to do the things I truly value, with some purpose, some good and some pleasure. Some might call that happiness. For me, it's dedication to myself.

My current vision is to find myself in situations that make me happy. It mostly involves clearing my plate of things that harm me, hurt me, use me or are of no use to me.
